Registration & Final Forms
You must go to the District Office located behind the middle school.
You will need to provide the following documents:
- Original birth certificate
- Updated Shot Record
- Proof of Residency (utility bill, lease agreement, etc)
- Custody Papers (if applicable)
- Most recent grades or transcript if applicable
Once your student is officially enrolled please complete the forms to complete the process.
School Messenger is the system we use to communicate closings, delays, attendance and other community activities.
The first phone number entered into Final Forms is what is used. You may setup your own contact preferences such as additional phone numbers or text messaging. Sign up with the email address we have in Final Forms, if you choose to use a different address, you can find your student by phone number. For guidance signing up, use the Parent User Guide, we do not have any of the additional services. Pages 5-10 have detailed signup instructions.
Highland will use the Schoology platform district wide starting this Fall.
To create a parent account go to schoology.com and click signup, you will need your parent access code. Parent access codes were be sent out via email and text with School Messenger on August 27th. If you did not receive one or are new, contact your child’s teacher after school begins.
Students login with their school google account at hlsd.schoology.com. There is a link on the student homepage and clever.

Extended Learning Plan
On February 9, 2021, Governor DeWine asked schools and districts to work with their communities and educational stakeholders to help students continue to advance academically and to make up for any learning that may have been lost or delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic and related disruptions.
“This once-in-a-lifetime pandemic has impacted all of us, so it should be no surprise that it has impacted our children. But we should not panic, nor should we be surprised by the results of assessments,” said Governor DeWine. “Instead, we should do what Ohioans have always done when facing a challenge – stay calm, roll up our sleeves, and work to solve the problem.”
Governor DeWine has requested that schools and districts design plans that address learning recovery and extended learning opportunities to meet the needs of students that could include, but are not limited to, extending the current school year, beginning the new year early, extending the school day or instituting summer programs, tutoring, remote options, and other remedial or supplemental activities.

Will parents be notified when there is a confirmed case of Covid-19 at their school?
The district will provide case notification to staff and parents in a specific classroom when a positive case is identified. The health district will follow up with individuals who are considered close contacts to alert them to monitor for symptoms.
Will parents be notified of positive cases involving those in athletic, extra-curricular or co-curricular activities?
Notification of positive cases in athletic, extra-curricular or co-curricular programs will be provided to the impacted families of the students and their corresponding teams, clubs or groups.
The Kroger Rewards program donates $5 million over the course of the year to eligible nonprofit organizations. Highland is eligible to receive a portion of these funds every time you use your Kroger card. Enrolling is simple, and there is no cost. The organization you choose will be noted on the bottom of your Kroger receipt.
Enrollment must be done annually. Kroger does not remind you, so please check your receipt.
